Cape Town to New York arriving in 0:00

Three steps.

No new bank, no foreign account, nothing to learn.

1

Add the supplier once.

Their name, country and bank details. We check the account before anything is sent, and you never type it again.

2

Enter the amount. See the cost.

Type the rand you want to send or the dollars they need. The rate, the fee and the arrival time are on screen before you confirm.

3

Confirm. Watch it land.

Pay us by EFT from your business account. You see each stage as it happens, and you get a receipt your bookkeeper can file.

Minutes, not days.

The same payment, sent Monday morning. Here's the week it has with a bank, and the four minutes it has with us.

Four minutes is the typical time from your rand arriving with us to the money reaching the other bank. A first payment to a new recipient takes a little longer while we run our checks.

One fee.

Kloof sends R 250,000 to Ohio. A bank hides a margin in the rate and adds fees at both ends. We take one fee and convert the rest at the rate you can see.

Who it's for.

Anyone moving money across this corridor, in either direction.

How FastStrait works for this customer

By the book.

Moving money across a border comes with rules. We follow them, and we work with licensed partners on every leg of the journey. Behind the scenes your money travels over modern payment rails rather than through a chain of correspondent banks, which is why it's quick. You only ever see rand on one side and dollars, pounds or euros on the other.

Within exchange control

Every cross-border payment is reported to the South African Reserve Bank through licensed partners, as the regulations require. Your usual limits and documents still apply, and we tell you upfront what's needed.

Every customer verified

We verify every business and the people behind it before the first payment, the same way a bank would.

Your money stays yours

Customer funds are held separately from our own, and are only ever used to make the payment you asked for.

No interest, either way

We don't charge interest and we don't pay it. We earn one visible fee on each payment, and that's all.

Questions

The ones we hear first.

Is this crypto?

No. You pay in rand and your supplier receives dollars, pounds or euros in their ordinary bank account. The rails we use in between are regulated and fully backed, and there's nothing to buy, hold or speculate on. If you're curious about the plumbing, ask us and we'll walk you through it.

Is it allowed under South African exchange control?

Yes. We work within the exchange control rules alongside licensed partners, and each payment is reported the way a normal cross-border payment would be. Your usual limits and documentation requirements still apply.

Which countries do you cover?

The United States, the United Kingdom and the eurozone, in both directions. That covers most of the trade South African businesses do in dollars, pounds and euros. If you need another corridor, tell us. It shapes what we build next.

How long does a payment take?

Conversion takes seconds. Most payments reach the recipient within minutes, depending on their bank and the local payment rail. A first payment to a new recipient can take a little longer while we run our checks.

What does it cost?

One fee per payment, shown before you confirm, on top of a rate you can see. No margin hidden in the rate and no monthly subscription. Get in touch for pricing based on your volumes.

When can we start?

We're onboarding a small group of South African importers, exporters and service businesses first. Leave your details and we'll set up a call.
